Important Information for Owners Over the Festive Season

As we approach the festive season there are a few things that owners need to know about.

Cyclone information

We have emailed a cyclone preparation and information pack to all tenants that includes information on how to ensure the property is prepared and secured, especially if they are going away.

Here is the information for your own reference.

Cyclone Information

Smoke alarms

Your tenants have been advised to replace batteries if they are going away to prevent them from going off, annoying neighbours, or resulting in after hour call outs.

To ensure that smoke alarms are not sounding their alarm at a time no one is available to attend your property if it is vacant, we recommend replacing your smoke alarm batteries. After hour call outs during this time will be charged back to you.

Repairs (especially ovens, stove tops, air conditioners, etc)

Many contractors are away during the festive season and school holidays. This can impact attendance levels & supply of parts for 4-6 weeks during this time. Proactive maintenance is recommended to avoid a delay as there are minimal contractors available.

Vacant Properties

Please ensure that there are enough funds in your mortgage account for mortgage payments.

Electricity

We will continue to hold viewings of vacant properties over this period. Please ensure that the electricity is on at your vacant property, this allows us to show your property in comfort by switching on fans and usually one air con in the living area.

Mould

We recommend leaving fans on to prevent mould build up during a typically wet time of year. Read our blog on mould for more information.

Owner funds

End of month payout will be Monday December 31.

Office closure

Although we will be closed, a smaller number of our team will still be working.

We will close our office from Monday December 24.

We will re-open on Wednesday, January 2.

Please note with applications, owners may need to consider making decisions without every reference to secure a lease. Outgoings will continue to be completed to comply with legislation.

There will be a Property Manager on duty to attend to any emergency matters, please call the office on  08 8930 6600 in case of an emergency.

Have a safe and wonderful holiday period.
